Power Distance - low score 33 and i agree that people are independent and equal and i am like that too. Individualism - score 63 which is high and means that Finland is Individualist society. People take care of themselves and their immediate families only because family is important to Finnish people and so is for me.
Masculinity - Finland has relatively low score in this category. That means that people focus on "working in order to live", valuing equality and solidarity. I can also agree on this one. Uncertainty avoidance - Finland has high score 59 and has a high preference for avoiding uncertainty. (The need for rules) I am like mostly like on this category, i like the rules to keep some kind of limits on things and be punctual.
Long term orientation - Low score 38, Finnish culture is normative. They exhibit great respect for traditions and focus achieving quick results. In this one i partly agree. I like achieving results fast and do them quickly. Im partly traditional with like christmas etc. holidays but still keep space for everything new things to happen and adapt to them.
Indulgence - High score 57, people possess positive attitude and have tendency towards optimism. I think i agree with this, i try to find something positive from everything and being optimistic on future.
In total comparing my own thoughts to average Finnish results im integrated great in my culture and i feel confortable in it. There is little differences but nothing much to change it complitely to another direction. I value Finnish culture and thats safe and familiar for me because i have lived my whole life in Finland.

| It is definitely interesting to see the statistics. I compared India, Germany and Vietnam.
Germany has a lower index in the power distance compared to India and Vietnam, and this is something to be learnt from. I think it would be good to learn from Germany on this dimension and understand how well we can integrate best practices. Clearly Germany seems to have the highest value in terms of individualism. It is true that Germans are more individualistic compared to Asian countries. And it is very clear that countries like India and Vietnam prioritise family orientation first before other aspects. And this could be one of the reason for this. But I believe it is equally important to also learn more about the individualistic approach of living. This can definitely help in understanding how well one can making decisions on their own and be more independent.
In terms of masculinity, Germany seems to be at the top and this does not reflect a good view globally. Vietnam has a lower index and the reason could be that there are many women workers or small businesses in Vietnam that are led by women. Again this is a random possibility, but not a clear one. Germans for sure know how to avoid risks and uncertainity , and this comes with long-term planning and effective strategy making. Something to be learnt from once again for other countries. In the view of long term orientation, I think Germans are one of the world leaders, and this is very important for other countries to leanr from.
Especially India, where we thing on a medium-term basis, and it would be interesting to adapt few practices from Germany on this. I think Vietnam and Germany are better off when it comes to indulgence. Although the numbers aren't very high in all the three countries, the act of indulging in some activity seems to be close enough for the two countries. And this again comes with how interested and motivated one country is in implementing new things.

| Power Distance: (40) Hierarchy is definitely a part of American society, but maybe not as prevelant or exaggerated as it may be in France, which has a score of 68. With a strong emphasis on celebrating everyones uniqueness and raising children to believe that they are all special in their own ways, a sense of hierarchy is also bestowed. This can also be seen in most businesses with clear levels of power, or the way students address teachers at school and so on.
Individualism: (91) I would agree with this score. I already briefly mentioned above, but Americans really celebrate individuallity and being unique. The greatest proponents of this then being the ones that others seem to follow and copy. Though, all still with individual tendencies to improve or satisfy oneself.
Masculinity: (62) I agree with this score, and would even argue that it should be higher. The USA is very competition driven, and this is embedded at an early age with school competitions in various subjects, sports that dominate the cultural sphere, and even entertainment, presenting competition shows in any and all categories imaginable.
Uncertainty Avoidance: (46) I would agree with this score, if not say it should be a bit lower. The USA celebrates innovativeness and rewards those who are not afraid to take risk, successfully, of course.
Long Term Orientation: (26) This makes sense if you take into accound how regularly and quickly things change and are produced in the USA. Though long term orientation may be a driving force for some, it is clear that short term orientation is more prevalent in the American culture.
Indulgence: (68) This is an accurate score for the USA. One reason for which I could support this score is that our society is quite confortable, and arguably that drives us to pay no regard to certain repercussions that lead us to be more indulgent.

INDIVIDUALISM (30) Indeed, Moldova is a collectivist country, but honestly, I learned to be more individualistic from a young age, because school teaches us to be united but at the same time it teaches us that life is a competition and that we must learn to manage ourselves and that trust is not something you can give easily.
MASCULINITY (42) Although in Moldova people really work harder to live, I personally raise this score above 90, because I don't live only for food and air, I like experiences and success, but I like to know that I am a person achieved in life.
UNCERTAINTY AVOIDANCE (90)To some extent I agree with this score, really time means money and rules are important, what doesn't suit me is the connection it has with faith.
LONG TERM ORIENTATION (52)of course we are a country very connected to the past and we hardly move from one period to another, but I personally don't get attached to the past very much and I love to make realizable plans for the near future.
INDULGENCE (20) There is of course this mentality in which indulgence is something wrong for people and that free time is for working more, maybe this is also a reason for the low score and the pessimistic population, of course sometimes I also fall into this bubble of pessimism and I'm afraid somewhat of the time I waste on less important things.

For me, I understand the need of hierarchies and taking responsibilities, but I would like to be treated equally no matter one's status within it. I also believe in being polite out of respect, but also in earned respect and not respect given just by one's status within the society.
Individualism (30):
Given the fact that until just 30 years ago Romania was under the communist regime where the wellbeing of the community and the country as a whole was more important than that of the individual, I believe that the score is pretty accurate. For me personally however, and for many among the younger generations individualism prevails. I can see this whenever I make decisions about my life and having in mind my own desires, and happiness.
Masculinity (42):
I can see how Romania scored somehow lower on this scale. People indeed prefer to work to live and not live for work so that the quality of their life would not be affected by this. Me personally, I would rather fall in the middle with more inclinations towards masculinity in this instance by always being in a competition with myself and the system in order to improve,

At the same time, I believe that people like some spontaneity in their lives and don’t want to stress too much with planning and living life accordingly to that. I also like spontaneity so overall I neither agree nor disagree with this score.
Indulgence (20):
I myself like to enjoy life and l live by the “work to live not live to work” mentality. At the same time, I can see how the country managed to score so low on this level. One of the reasons can be the strict and conservative mindset of people that prefer to put aside their happiness in order to save face, as they would think. It can also happen from the fact that the country is still struggling financially and for some people the thought of having to secure first the things needed for a comfortable life come before actually enjoying life.
All in all, I don't feel very integrated within the society when it comes to the older generation, however, conisdering my generation or those younger, I believe that we are more similar. At the same time, I like to think of myself as a european/global citizen rather than jusr Romanian since my experiences have been so diverse.

| POWER DISTANCE: score 68. People accept hierarchy. Everyone has a place and we just accept it without further questioning it. To a certain level I agree with that. INDIVIDUALISM: score 60. Polish people will take care of themselves and immediate family only. The work relationship is usually very strict and contract-based. Polish culture is a 'contradiction' it is an individual society, however, it needs a hierarchy. The relationships are fragile, but very fruitful once they are managed properly. MASCULINITY: score 64. Meaning, people live to work, managers are supposed to be assertive, and competition and conflicts are being solved by fighting them out. This is the only dimension where I do not agree 100%. I would rather just talk things through and try to find solution and compromise. UNCERTAINTY AVOIDANCE: score 93. Very high score, meaning that the need for rules, the decisions which are irrational are not agreed to. everything should have a rational or scientific explanation. Hard work, precision and punctuality are very important. I completely agree with this. For me, if something does not make sense, I would either not do it or wait until someone can explain it to me properly. LONG TERM ORIENTATION: score 38. The absolute truth must be established. respect for tradition and focus on achieving quick results. I agree with that. I always am trying to find the truth, I do not believe in lying and I would rather say the truth, even though it might get me in the troubles. I value the polish traditions and respect traditions of others. INDULGENCE: score 29. tendency to cynicism and pessimism. I agree partially, I used to be negative before. I still am sometimes, but I am trying to look on the bright side as much as possible.

| I chose Finland as I live here.
Power Distance: Low score of 33 which means that people here are independent and have equal rights. Communication is direct and participative. I agree with all of these, as I am very independent and direct.
Individualism: Score of 63 which means that Finland is an Individualist society. People take care of themselves and their immediate families only. I agree with this, because family is important to me. No one has the resources to take care of a whole village and that’s why you should concentrate on taking care of your own.
Masculinity: Low score of 26 which means that Finland is considered a Feminine society. People focus on working in order to live, valuing equality and solidarity. I also agree on this one as I don’t live to work, I work to provide for my needs. I prefer as much free time and flexibility as possible.
Uncertainty avoidance: High score of 59 and therefore a high preference for avoiding uncertainty. Finnish people tend to play it safe and stick to their comfort zone. I am partially like this, depending on the occasion or topic.
Long term orientation: Low score of 38, as Finnish culture is normative. People have great respect for traditions. I'm somewhat traditional when it comes to relationships or holiday celebrations but I’m also modern and open to new things.
Indulgence: Relatively high score of 57 which makes Finland an Indulgent country where people fulfill their impulses and desires in order to enjoy their life and have fun. People have a positive attitude and a tendency towards optimism. I also try to fulfill my desires to enjoy my daily life and I’m optimistic about the future.
In conclusion, comparing my thoughts to the Finnish average, I have integrated into this culture very well. Even though I come from Sweden, the culture is pretty similar and we mostly value the same things.

| Power Distance (35): I actually feel like in Germany there is a higher power distance because I feel hierarchies are still considered really important even though there is a lot of change. I personally identify with lower power distance, I do not like hierarchies too much. Further on I respect older people very much but I would not say that their opinion has more worth than the one from younger generations. Individualism (67): I identify very much with this score. Even though I love to be with peole all the time and I also like to work in teams. In terms of making choices independently and feeling responsible for my own life achievements, I am very individualistic. I think the individualistic process of thinking is somehow important to develop own opinions and questioning other opinions rather than overtaking them maybe from your whole family.
Masculinity (66): I think the masculine characteristics are represented in the German system. It is more about being dominant and tough, öeading and succeeding than about caring for others and being empathic and sensitive towards others. I identify with a lower level of masculinity, so maybe a balance of both. Uncertainty Avoidance (65): Germans do not like to take risks and do not like uncertainty, that's why we have insurances for everything. I feel like I am influenced by this from my mothers side. I personally identify with lower power distance, I do not like hierarchies too much. Further on I respect older people very much but I would not say that their opinion has more worth than the one from younger generations. Individualism (67): I identify very much with this score. Even though I love to be with peole all the time and I also like to work in teams. In terms of making choices independently and feeling responsible for my own life achievements, I am very individualistic. Masculinity 40 - Once again, I really can not comment this grade cause I believe it differs in different regions in Croatia. Uncertainty Avoidance 80 - I agree with this grade cause most Croatians aren't risk takers and we like to plan long term to secure our future.
Long Term Orientation 58 - Once again, I agree with this grade cause most Croatians aren't risk takers and we like to plan long term to secure our future.
Indulgence 33 - I don't agree with this grade and I believe it should be higher beacuse Croatians really like to indulge themselves if there are available materialistic funds for that.

| I'm from Portugal, and I can relate to most scores given to my country according to the Hofstede dimensions. However, I don't fully agree with the 99 score of Uncertainty Avoidance that was given, since I'm more than okay either with an environment that doesn't really have any rules do abide by or getting out of my comfort zone, at all.

Individualism: Although India has a score of 48 in this aspect, I would put myself at a higher score as I believe Individualism plays an important role in my life
Masculinity: Here India has a score of 56, it is true that India is a mostly masculine society in terms of visual display of success and power
Uncertainty Avoidance: India’s score is 40 in this dimension. In India, there is acceptance of imperfection. But I would not categories myself in this category as I like to plan out things in my personal and professional life.

| The results were interesting, although I was already expecting some. I got surprised with the individualism score. It is true that portuguese people are kind and very open to almost everyone, but when you put money in the conversation everything changes, so that's why I got a little surprised by that score.

Even though I am very family-oriented and feel homesick quite often here, I also value my independence and the ability to make my own decisions. Uncertainty Avoidance: India scores 40 on this dimension and thus has a medium low preference for avoiding uncertainty. Again, this doesn't resonate with me, and I am uncomfortable with uncertainty and risk. I prefer a more structured and planned approach. Long Term Orientation: India scores high in this dimension, 51, which means that Indian society places a strong emphasis on long-term planning and perseverance. This is reflected in the importance placed on education, family values, and respect for authority figures.
